Do I need Chinese visa when I have entry permit from Hong Kong?

I am now in Canada and holding a Canadian Passport and I also have an entry permit iussed in Hong Kong by China travel agency in Hong Kong. Do I need one when travel from Canada to Beijing?

Hi, you can use the entry permit to mainland. But make sure register yourself with the local police (Public Security Bureau) within 24 hours after entry.
