from jishou to dehang to fenghuang

Question

We are arriving by train to Jishou around 10am. Can we take a bus to Dehang and explore a little bit then take a bus back to Jishou and then take a bus to Fenghuang in 1 day? How much time is needed to visit Dehang? Is it quicker to hire a taxi to Dehang and have him wait for me while we visit Dehang? How much does that cost?

You can spend half of a day in Dehang and then can reach Fenghuang in the late afternoon. It is suggested to spend at least half of a day in Dehang. For hiring a taxi, do you mean you want to hire a taxi to reach Dehang and let the car to wait for you to reach Fenghuang? If so, it is possible not very hard to hire one. I heard the fare for hire a car to reach Fenghuang from Jishou is around 150 to 200, so the price will be higher than that if you include the Dehang.
