Hubei is a province and geographically, the nearest city from Guangzhou should be a border city between Hunan - Yueyang. To reach there, the shorest route should be the high-speed train, which can be taken at Guangzhou South to Yueyang East.1

Oh, I see. Then you can take the high-speed train to travel from Guangzhou to Wuhan first within a little longer than 4h. Then at Wuhan Jinjiadun or Fujiapo Bus Station to take a direct bus to Huangshi.0
