do i need visa if i go to shenzhen via hongkong?

hi I am holding a malaysia passport, but I am also a PR in singapore. I will be travelling to hongkong for 8days and planning to cross over to shenzhen for 3D2N. Not sure if I need to apply one before I travel or can I apply in shenzhen upon reaching? Need confirmation, thanks in advance!!
