About:Chinese Embassy in U.S.A.

Will the 72 hour visa cover such a trip? Thank you!

I am flying into Shanghai (Sept 24) and will take train to Hong Kong 48 hours later. I will return to Shanghai from Hong Kong in nine days for another 48 hour stay in Shanghai and then a flight back to Los Angeles.

Sorry, you can't enjoy 72 hours free transit in Shanghai. It requires that you come and leave by air.
