About:Chinese Embassy in Croatia

Can I apply for a visa to visit China while I'm in Hong Kong?

I'm a Croatian citizen and will be studying in Hong Kong for a semester. Is it possible to apply for one from there? I see that for an application in Croatia I need to have my ticket but since I'd like to go there during the semester and will fly out of Hong Kong, I can't show my plane ticket. Or would it be enough to include my plane ticket for Hong Kong?

Marija, I am afraid that your air ticket for HK doesn't work if you provide it to apply for one for mainland China. No matter you apply in HK or your own country, invitation letter (or return air ticket and hotel booking in China) is needed.

Thank you for your response. So, you do think it is possible to apply for one from Hong Kong, right?

Yes, if you study there, it is possible for you to get one while you are in HK. Tickets is not a must as HK is so close to mainland. But hotel bookings or invitation letter from a travel company for tour is necessary.
