Information on Visa Application for a visiting scientist that want to attend conference

Dear Sir,

I Olufemi B. Adedeji a Nigerian ( Senior Lecturer Veterinary Public
Health and Preventive Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria)
visiting US as a Courtesy faculty member at the Department of
Environmental and Molecular Toxicology Oregon State University
Corvallis, Oregon. My Visa to the United State will expire on 15
November 2013. However my program has been adjusted here so I can stay
till early next year. I want to attend a conference in China in the
last week of September 2013. Is it possible I apply for it here in
the United State and what are the requirement. I am on J 1 here
in United State. Kindly advise.

Hi, you can apply from the Consulate General of PRC in San Francisco. Your valid J1 is ok as a proof of your status in US. Other documents required are your passport, application forms (both Form A and the supplementary Form B), a passport photo, and invitation letter from the conference organizer or the said scientist.
