Could we visit hangzhou in one day?  Would it be best to go by train?  How much would it cost?

Yes, you can visit HZ in a day and then go back to Shanghai. The high-speed trains between are frequently scheduled and very convenient. It only takes around an hour. Train tickets costs CNY73-77.5 for a second class seat and CNY117-123.5 for a first class seat.
