I will be travelling to Changsha & Zhangjiajie in late August. What kind of weather will i be expecting?

Well, it will still be hot then in the two places, with the average temperature of 28C or higher. Sunny days would be the majority and cloudy days may fall sometimes. It is suggested to take along summer clothes as well as a light jacket in case of sudden temperature fall.

You should know, this is the hottest summer that Changsha has on record. It's been a consistent 35-40C and extremely humid. So I would expect weather such as that to continue through to August.
It also hasn't rained for over a month.
