About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Do I qualify for 72 hr Guangzhou visa?

I will be flying from
USA to Beijing (72 hr free in Beijing)
Fly from Beijing to Hong Kong
Then I want to ride train to and from Guangzhou for a day
Then fly from Hong Kong to Beijing to USA
Will the Guangzhou trip be transit free if I am not flying into Guangzhou airport, but I am still flying out of Hong Kong to Beijing then to USA?

No, you need a visa if you plan to visit Guangzhou from Hong Kong by train. Anyway, your two stopovers via BJ airport is ok under 72 hr free transit rule.
