About:Shanghai Ferry

Is the sightseeing ferry still operating in Shanghai?

Is the sightseeing ferry still operating and does it offer the same view as ferries from the bund? It seems very affordable compared to the ones at the bund. Where can I buy tickets (what is the name of the ferry station)?

As far as I know, there are both the sightseeing ferry on Huangpu River and ordinary ferries taking passengers to cross the Huangpu River to reach Pudong district. The second is just for transportation method for local people's daily life.
I think you may want to take the second type of ferry, right?
If so, there are 17 ferry lines in the city and the ticket can be bought at the ferry terminal. I happened to take a ferry on Taigong Line, which I think is good. This line starts from Gongping Road to reach Taitongzhan Ferry Terminal. It is not crowded on the ferry and has the similar scenery as the Pujiang River Sightseeing ferry.

Thanks for the prompt reply Lisa! So let me just make sure I completely understand your point - you are saying that I can basically "sightsee" huangpu river using the transportation method of the local people by purchasing tickets at any of the 17 ferry lines wharf? Will the scenery be pretty much the same as that of huangpu river cruise offered from the bund? I'm asking because at the bund they charge 100 rmb while according to this website, it's only 12 rmb.

Looking forward to your speedy reply!

Just to add on was at east jingling station at the bund and when i inquired I was told no 12 yuan or loop ferry tour exists. They all pointed to the 100 yuan ones. Don't the sightseeing ferry (local transportation stop at the bund as well)? I was also told on weekends there's A special cruise for 60 from 3-5, essentially the sightseeing one.
