About:Shanghai Travel

Iteniary in or around Shanghai

Hello, my husband will be on business in SH from August 26 - October 4. He will work until 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday. On four of the weekends we would like to travel out of the city. We are thinking of Beijing, Xi'an and possibly Chongqing, Sushou and Hangzhou. Maybe a river cruise also. With four weekends do you feel we will have enough time to visit these places? Will we have enough time during the week to see most of the sites in SH. I would be very interested in your thoughts and any itineraries, information, etc you may provide. thank you

Since you are free after 5:00pm, I think you have enough time to travel around SH city during the week and the Huangpu River Cruise can also be taken at night. The scenery along that river at night is very beautiful.
The local Bund, the Pudong area and Nanjing Road can all be visit at nights. For other places such as Yuyuan Garden, the Jade Buddha Temple and other local musuems, you may need to visit during weekends.

For other places, Suzhou and Hangzhou can easily be reach by the bullet trains and you can travel to those places in weekends. So you can go there first.

For Beijing and Xian, if you want to go there in weekends, you may need to fly to reach there on Friday evening and fly back on Sunday evening.

It is hard to travel to Chongqing, since you do not have other weekends after travel to those four places.

Do I need to contact you to purchase bullet tickets? How far in advance should I purchase the tickets? If we choose to stay an extra week, do you have any thoughts of where to travel/visit? Thank you so much for your help.
