Hi, if you are going to stay in a hotel in Nanning, you can turn to your hotel. They may help to find a translator. Generally, they charge certain fare between CNY400 and CNY 800 per day.

Firstly, I'd like to let you know that it is safe enough to travel in the city. I have been there for twice. The most fascinating attractions are Xuanwu Lake, Purple Mountain Observatory, Confucius Temple (Fuzimiao) and Dr. Sun Yat-sen's Mausoleum, which are all must-see spots.

Thank you for your reply Elina.
Can you get around Nanning easily without speaking Chinese? I am currently looking for a translator for my time there. I am also looking at purchasing a electronic translator to help me out. Can anyone suggest one, (one that is easy to use). Thank you for all your help! Dan

Surely you can. you will not feel very hard with language barrier. There are many young people and work staff in many places speaking English. But to have a good visit for your trip, an English speaking guide may be necessary.
