I was in China last month,i would like to go back,should i apply for the visa again since it was a single entry,is it possible now to apply for a mutiple one.

Yes, you need to apply for a new one if you want to visit again. You can have a try to apply for a multiple entry, but make sure provide supporting documents such as flight ticket and hotel bookings or invitation letter for needs of frequent visit.
