About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

2 days stay and cruise and then 1 day/night stay

I have read that China was considering allowing a 72 hour stop over permissible without a visa. My partner and I will be arriving and staying in Beijing 2 days prior to a cruise leaving from Tianjin, in September, and then staying 1 more night in Beijing on our return.

Hi, 72 hour stopover is for air passengers only. If you will fly to Beijing but will leave by cruise from Tianjin, you need to apply for a visa in advance for this visit.
If you visit by cruise for a short stop less than 24 hours (return trip), you are allowed free entry.
