Yes, flight itinerary is necessary. Except for this, you need to provide a filled ID 1003A application form, a recent passport size photo, copy of your passport info page, financial standing (bank statement for example). I think that you can ask your girlfirend to apply for it in HK. It's much more convenient than you.

the best way is to ask your girlfriend for sponsorship so that its easy for you to go to hongkong. you will get visa for 4 weeks and be sure book the marriage registration office earlier in hongkong otherwise you have to wait long.and for this process you dont have to show anything for the flight. tell your girlfriend to send visa and air ticket .and if you are ready to go to hongkong for marriage you better take your birth registration family details (name and occupation of your family members).once you married and apply for the dependent type there they will ask for your emails ,facebook messages or skype message or viber message or phone details to check either you were in love or not or how long you were in love with each other and the last time your girlfriend visited you.they need the proof of your love and contacts between you though you are married in hongkong.show i mean to say ,tell your girlfriend to sponser you.and it will take around a year to get dependent one.
