Applying for a Chinese visa in Kathmandu

Next month I'll be flying to Nepal. My plan is to travel around the country for 3 to 4 months and then visit China for 2 months. I haven't bought a ticket to (Chengdu) yet, because first I want some certainty about getting a (tourist) L. How likely is it for an ordinary tourist to receive it in Nepal? Is it a difficult procedure?

Hi, as I know from experience of my friends, it is easy for foreign passport holders to handle application in Kathmandu. If you will visit Tibet, you need also to get an Tibet Travel Permit issued by Tibet Travel Bureau. You can also contact a local travel agency for the latest information.
