Yes, it is safe enough for woman to travel there. Will you stay in a hotel in the city? If so, it is advised to turn to your hotel to attact a tour guide and van rental service for you. Or they may recommend a good local travel agency to you. And I heard a private tour guide (interpreter) may charge more than CNY500/day.
