hello im irish and im getting a job in shenzhen teaching children english??

is it a good place to stay? is it dear to live? any other info you can tell mw would be great.

Yes, it is a good place to stay for sightseeing, shopping, dining and other aspects.
Its living standard is higher than Chinese average line, but not too dear for living. Generally, to rent an apartment with a bathroom and kitchen, you may need CNY1,000. food there is not that expensive.

Local Dongmen Laojie Pedestrian is a paradise for shopping. And for electronics items, Huaqiang North Commercial Center can be the best choice. MTR system is very convenient in the city. So life there should be efficient.
