About:Guangzhou Travel Guide

I will be staying in Guangzhou, Baiyun district for atleast 8 weeks.

I need as much info as possible:

1) Places to visit and eat In Baiyun.

2) How far are other attractions and districts?

3) Which are the famous but cheap markets for shopping like tea, clothes, antiques, shoes, cosmetcis etc?

4) Where to eat Local food?

5) How safe is it for single women traveler?

6) Which place/district has more affordable stay options with local attractions nearby.

I will have only weekends to travel, i.e Sundays. So I would explore other districts and rest other days, please suggest where to go for evenings.

Apart from all this, any other suggestions?????????????

1. Places to visit: Chimelong Resort and GZ Zoo, White Cloud Mountain (Baiyun Shan), Ancestral Temple of the Chen Family and Yuexiu Park. Bedsides, you can take the cruise at Haizhu Plaza to have a view of Pearl River and the night vie can be more attractive.

Places for eating: Local Beijing Road Pedestrian and Shangxia Jiulu are mosted suggested.

2. This is a vague question, so it is hard to tell. However, the MTR systems in GZ is very convenient and it can be fully used to reach the attractions I mentioned above.

3. To meet all your demands, Beijing Road Pedestrian and Shangxia Jiulu still are the best choice.

4. To have local food and snacks, you can have a try at Baohua Road at old city area.

5. GZ is a safe city. So even for a single lady, you can travel there without any worry!

6. It is suggested to find an accommodation at Yuexiu District, especially near Haizhu Plaza, which is in the middle place of attractions and the transportation nearby isvery convenient. In the evening, it is very buy at Haizhu Plaza, so you can relax there. Besides, I have to mention Beijing Road and Shangxia Jiulu again, which may be good places to visit at night.

Hi Robin Thanx for your reply.

I need info on weekend getaways from GZ. I will be in GZ for 10 weeks. Have weekend off.
Saturdays and Sundays.
1) Are there any place/city that can be visited on weekends.

2) Is it possible to make a trip to zhangzhou to visit Shaolin Temple?

3) Any village/ island, any place that can be covered on weekends?

Any help is much appreciated.

From GZ, you can visit some nearby cities such as Zhuhai and Shenzhen during weekends.
It is possible to make a trip to Shaolin Temple, but this trip is hard to be finished on weekends.
Around that city, Xiaozhou Village is the best place to go during weekends and you can also choose to go to Shamian Island.

Shaolin Temple is very far away from GZ.

I have visited Shaolin Temple during March. There seldom seldom seldom people can speak English.
