Do I need a visa/entry permit if I am going for a 4-5 days holiday to Hong Kong?

If you will return to Singapore from HK, you need to apply for a HK entry permit from Chinese embassy. But if you will visit Mainland via HK, you are allowed free stay there for 7 days.

No, I am afraid not. You need to apply for an entry permit in advance.
