About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

L Visa and Residence Permit?

I finished a contract with my company at the end of June, after which they changed my Z to a one month L. My new L is valid through the end of July, however my residence permit is only valid through the end of June, last month. I have bought a plane ticket to leave at the end of July before my L runs out, but my residence permit is not valid through then. I have also just moved house and need to go to register my new address with the police bureau. I am moving back in August to start a new contract with a different company. Will I have any issues because I have the L, but my residence permit has reached the end of it's validity?

Don't worry, you did everything just correctly according to Chinese visa regulation. So, it is no problem for your next work Z application.

I now have a little bit of a separate problem as well. In order to get my temporary residence at the local police station, I need to get a document showing the ownership of the residence. However, my current landlord is taking a very long time getting the document to me. He says he can give it to me in 4 days, but I just got a call from the police saying I need to register my new address within 3 days. Is there any way to register my address without the document showing proof of ownership of the apartment?

You'd better explain to the police officers that you can only get the ownership of the residence within 4 days. Or please ask your landord to expedite the processing of the document.

I explained it to the police, and they registered my information in their computer, but didn't give me my registration form of temporary residence. They told me I shouldn't have a problem now since my information is in their system, and that I can give them the proof of ownership when I get it. They said I just need to have the registration form of temporary residence in order to change my L in the Fall, but the important part for them is that my information is in their computer.
