If you visit China for tourism, you should apply for a tourist L. Can you tell me more about your travel itinerary? Please note Augentina passport holders enjoy exemption for transit through Beijing and Shanghai for 72 hours.

Yes, this person will be there for about 15 days traveling on business. They live in the US, but have citizenship in Argentina, therefore hold an Argentinian passport. I will make sure they get a tourist (L). Is there anything else I should know?

If they will be there for 15 days on business, then the correct type should be F. Invitation letter from business partner is required.

But will (L) work in this case? Or must it be an (F)?

According to the regulation, they need F if visiting for business. But if they do not have invitation letter, an L is ok but it is not illegal actually. The government is tightening things up recently.
