what type of visa would i require to visit friends in china

Last year I travelled to China with an organized tour. I have been invited back to China to stay with a Chinese family that I met during the tour? Is this possible? What type would I require? I am a Canadian citizen.

Yes, you can go back to visit China on L type one. You need to prepare your passport (at least two blank pages and six months validity), a completed application form with a recent passport size photo and the invitation letter from the Chinese family.
