About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

16 hours layover in Beijing???

I hold Thailand passport and on my way back to the USA, my layover in Beijing is 16 hours; Do I need a visa or some kind of form to leave airport and come back with no problem? I really just have to make sure. I do not want to miss my flight coming back to US. I am also permanent resident of USA. This travel is in August.

Visa is not required for a stopover less than 24 hours. But if you want to leave the airprot, you have to apply for a stay permit at the airprot after arrival. Your passport and flight ticket are required.

Thank you for this information. I have many concerns though. I need to book Beijing tour and I must pay for the tour before I arrive and there is no refund. My concern is once I get to Beijing airport, is it a 100% guarantee that I can ask for that form then I will be able to leave and come back to airport with no problem? Is there someone I can call and confirm this request? may be like China consulate here in the U.S.? I do not want to book my tour and pay for it and not be able to leave the airport? Please help.

Thank you,

Yes, it is free of charge and allows transit passengers to go out of the airport, either for short tour or hotel. If necessary, you can call at 0086-10-56095400 (Beijing International Airport) for further confirmation.
