About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Chinese Visa for later date?

I am leaving Australia now, travelling around the world and intend to arrive on Chongqing in 7-8 months time. Can I get a Chinese L now that doesn't begin being valid until I arrive?

Hi, a single entry is valid for 3 months only from issue date. It is too early for you to apply now. But if you will leave for a world travel, you can try to apply for a multiple entry L valid for 12 months. Otherwise, you may need to try to apply in a third country while travelling.

If you can get a 12 month multiple entry - do that. Otherwise apply from where you will be when you are ready to enter China, but remember that the Issuers are a little reluctant to grant visas for such applicants and the rejection rate is relatively high. They prefer you apply for it at the closest consulate to your hometown.
