About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

72 hour transit permit now available in Guangzhou Baiyun Int Airport?

I have a NZ passport. I will fly from Seoul, to Guangzhou (8 hour layover), then to New Zealand. Will I be able to leave the international lounge, so I can meet my Guangzhou friends inside the airport?

Thanks.

I think you need to call the airport to confirm this. I read a piece of news, which said the 72 hour free transit in Guangzhou Airport will be available in June. However, I didn't find any further update on this. Please dial 020-81101991 for details.

I tried that phone number. She didn't know. She thought I wouldn't be able to leave Beijing airport either. So I guess she didn't know anything about it.
