You may be reading more into this than you need. I note that you have been married for quite some time and I gather you are well accustomed to each other. I think you are well loved on a deeper level but superficially he wants to spread his wings and fly around a bit, he probably feels cramped by circumstance and craves the freedom of his single years. I think this is a period you have to get through and if you can do so your marriage will ultimately be the stronger.
