hong kong airport express card

Question

Hello,We arrive at 17.15 on the 1st August and will travel straight to our Hotel and will not travel again that day, will this count as the 1st Day of our pass meaning we can only use it for day 2 and 3 of our stay in HK,  we do not actually leave until the evening of the 6th August so unsure if this is the best card to purchase. Actually, the card can be used within 72h since the first use. Therefore, if you don't use on the first day, it will not be counted. As you may use the local MTR, bus or ferry for your six day stay, so it is suggested to have a Standard Octopus Card.
