How long can I work in China?

How long can I stay working with the same company? I have heard that foreigners can only work for 5 years with the same company and needed to transfer city if still wanted to work here in China, how true is this? Thank you so much!

Hi, I have never heard of this before. As I know, the work residence permit can be issued with 5 years as the longest. But it can be extended before expiration.
