About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Itinerary

My friend and I are U.S. citizens traveling to China in mid-August and are applying for our Visas now. We have tickets both in and out of the country and our basic itinerary set but we have only booked accommodation for the first two cities (Beijing/Xian), as our itinerary may change, pending how we find each city once we arrive. I did not think this would be a problem but in the application process it implies we must have definitive accommodation booked in each city. May we list where we intend to stay or must all accommodation actually be booked and verified? Cheers!

Hi, it is not necessary to book hotels for the whole trip. The tickets and hotel bookings you have now are enough for tourist L application. You can prepare a general travel itinerary including Beijing and Xian. Don't worry, a tourist L is generally issued with 30 days as duration of stay, so you can visit other cities within its validity.
