My question on visa application

I am a New Zealand passport holder living in UK , here in Tokyo for a vacation but planning to go to china for a few weeks The. Returning to Japan to return to UK , the application process seems to be much more complicated than I thought ! The process seems blurred by irregularities in detail provided by different sources ! What is the procedure in your opinion?

You need to apply via a designated trave agency in Japan. The documents you have to prepare are: your passport, filled application form and invitation letter. If you don't have the invitation letter, you should provide the orders for return air ticket and hotel reservation in China. Most importantly, a copy of your passport information page and valid entry record to Japan is needed too.
