Do I need to make an appointment to submit my application?  Also, leave in 7 days time - do you recommend using the express 2-3 days or is the 4 days processing sufficient?

No, you needn't make any appointment. Just go to the CVASC center in SYD directly. I think you'd better use rush or express service. If there is something wrong with your application, you might have time to supplement your documents and re-apply again.
