Travelling to Dunhuang and Urumuqi on Mid August (16-220, is it safe for 18 months baby to go desert

We are planning to have a family trip to Dunhuang and Urumuqi on Mid August. However, I am start to worried about our baby as a lot of people said, it is too hard for small baby. Would anyone advice, is it safe to bring baby to travel in silk road especially to desert in dunhuang? Can I easily get food for our baby? or any cantonese or southern china food in dunhuang city or urumuqi? What should I bring to make sure our baby are safe.
Any recommended DIY travel agent as we are in group of 8 people.

Thanks

I don't agree that it is too hard to kid there. I took my three-year boy there in 2011 and he enjoyed himself a lot. Just take a good care of your baby and make a full preparation for the trip, and it can be fine.

During mid August, it would be a little hot and has large temp gap between daytime and nighttime, ranging from 14C to 34C. Therefore, you'd better take along summer clothes and one or two thicker clothes to keep warm. Bring comfortable shoes.

Actually, it is easier to get northern Chinese food and Muslim food there. So you can take some on your own in case you cannot adjust to the local food.

For your baby, you may need to prepare some regular medicine in case catching cold or being uncomfortable in stomach.

Yeah, as for your trip, it is best to join a tour. I recommend TravelChinaGuide (a seasoned travel agency) to you. Here is their email: travelchinaguide.com|tours

Hope help!
