About:Chinese Embassy in Australia

Is a L type ok or do I need a F ytype? If so do I require an invitation from a contact in China or is a letter from my employer adequate?

Entry to Nanjing for one week, on way to Europe. While I have traveled previously with delegations in China, I am currently planning a short private visit that combines work-related appointments with sightseeing around Nanjing before continuing on to Europe.

I think you need to apply a F type one. As for the required documents, please refer to the above information on this page.
