What are the ways to get to the city center of Shanghai?

Hello, Im going to shanghai tomorrow and I will be staying in Shanghai Maritime University for a month. I was looking for possible ways to get to the center of Shanghai but didnt find anything good. Could you help me and recommend what are the buses and subways going from Shanghai Maritime University(Hùchéng Ring Road, Gǎnlǎn Road) to the city center?
