No, I took a bus around 18:00 leaving from GL. Sorry.

Actually, I heard the buses all depart in the afternoon at 17:30, 17:50, and buses from 18:00 to 18：50 are scheduled every 10min.

My Chinese friend also told me that the seated express buses have been changed to sleeeper for night journey now. You'd better comfirm this with the bus station staff.

We recently took this bus from Guangzhou to GL, when I bought tickets no one seemed to know exactly how long the bus route would take, only that we leave in the evening and arrive early next morning. On the bus the driver told me buses are not allowed to drive between 2 and 5 am, so it stopped somewhere and just waited. Then it stopped again at Yangshuo for a long time. All in all it took about 12 hours. It is quite a miserable trip. Make sure you buy a ticket for coach with beds.
