About:Simatai Great Wall

Simatai photography

Hi, Im an photography avid landscape photography and intending a trip to China at the start of August. I was intending on photographing the Great Wall and am researching the best photo locations now. My research has led me to believe that the SMT section is the most beaufitul for photography and I was intending on shooting upwards towards the Watching Beijing Tower from the fairy tower.

I have read on the internet that this section is closed. Is this correct? How close to the Fairy Tower or the Beijing Watching tower would I still be able to get if only part of the section is closed or is it the entire section?

Many thanks for your help.

Jay

Yes, it is correct. It is closed now and will open around October this year.
The Fairy Tower and the Beijing Watching Tower are not far from each other, but the road between them are steep.
The whole section of SMT Wall is closed, so I think you may still need to wait for some monthes.
