About:Chinese Embassy in UAE
Please can a U.S citizen on a visit to Dubai apply & obtain a Chinese visa in Dubai.If yes, how long

I am afraid you can't. Non UAE citizens need to provide work visa or resident permit at least valid for six months. You may go to HK first and then apply for it in HK.0
