About:Chinese Embassy in Canada

Short term layover

Hello,

I am only in the Shanghai airport for 7 hours before flying out to Dubai. I was wondering if I needed a Visa to leave the airport to spend a couple of hours in a hotel before catching my connecting flight.

Yes, you can apply for a stay permit if your want to go out of the airport during this 7 hr stopover.
