Shoes in the home...

In the pictures above, I see that the guests are still wearing their shoes in doors. Is this proper? When staying at hotels, must we remove our shoes to enter the hotel? My husband and I are going to China for the first time in December and I am trying to research as much as possible - we want to make positive memories, not insult the natives. Please advise. Thanks!

It is proper to wearing shoes in doors.
If you are staying in the hotel, it is not necessary to remove your shoes to enter.
I do not think you will have a negative memories in China and hope you can enjoy every mintue in China.
