Residence permit for marriage

What can you tell me about the process to acquire a residence permit to live with my wife in China? Is it different than what you have described above?

You can apply for a visiting L first with invitation letter from her, as well as copies of her Chinese ID. The residence permit is issued within mainland only. So, you can enter first then apply for the permit at her local PSB.
