About:China Tourist Visa

How can I stay in china for 3 months on an L?

I want to come for 3 months to stay with a friend, I have a letter of invitation from my friend but I've noticed the maximum stay on the visa is now 60 days. If I applied for a multi-entry would that allow me to stay for 90 days?
Also do I have to get prove i have a return flight booked?
I'm from the UK.
Thanks

A multiple one is ok if you plan to stay 90 days. But I think the letter from your friend may not sufficient to get a multiple L. I think you can try to apply for a double entry tourist L and ask for extension before the second entry expires. Return ticket is required.
