Thank you but there is a little problem in the answer (can one flyTaiwan to Nanao). I searched flight and only found the link via ... Guangzhou... a long ways past SWA and the back again. And many (many) hours of transit. Might you know of a direct connection? If so on what airline, from which city in Taiwan? Thank you kindly, George

Yes, you cannot fly to the island directly. But you can use Southern Airline to fly from Taipei to Shantou (Jieyang Chaoshan Airport) via Guangzhou and you also need to transfer at Guangzhou for around 6h I remember.
