About:Chinese Embassy in Japan

Application for Italian and French nationalities in Tokyo

We`re a couple: one Italian and one French. We`ll arrive in Tokyo, end of June. From Tokyo we`ll fly to Bejing, then cross to Mongolia by train and come back in China in July.
What kind of visa we need?
Can we apply in Tokyo? Do we need to go through a local agency? Do you have any name of agency to reccommend to us?
Thanks a lot in advance

Hi, you need to apply for a double entry Chinese tourist L. You are suggested to apply in advance before leaving for Japan. Because to apply in Japan travel agencies may double the fee and requires more documents. A double entry L is valid for 6 months, so it is good for entry in July.

Hi Demi, thanks a lot for your quick answer. The fact is that we`re already travelling and we`ll leave for Equador and Mexico in the next days. So unfortunately we have no choice than doing this in Japan. Do you know more or less how long it take and where I can find the list of documents that we`ll need please?

Regular processing takes 4 working days. Following documents are required for application: your original passport, application forms (both V2011A and V2011B), photo, hotel reservation certificate and a two-way air ticket, your Japan visa and entry record. You can find a travel agency after arrival for the lastest information.

Hi Demi,
all clear, thanks again. So no financial records are needed, right?
Any agency to reccommend?
Do you know how much it costs and how much it costs the agency please?

Financial support is required only if consular officers ask for it. Generally, round-trip ticket and hotel reservation are enough. Fee is Yen 4,000 for a single entry, but I am not clear how exactly the travel agency may charge for their service. I remember there was one right beside the Chinese embassy in Tokyo.
