About:China Visa Entries / Validity / Duration of Stay

Are you able to apply for a work visa whilst in china by sending your passport to your home country

To leave the country and then get a stamp for the new work Z to be valid?

Yes, this is an option. But have you tried to apply work Z in HK? Sending back application may takes a long time.

The company say that the government need a residency permit in HK to be able to address their invitation letter to an address in HK. Otherwise id be applying in HK

Basically i dont want to have to leave the country just to apply for the work Z. I dont know whether i can have it sent back, leave on my in date tourist L and then re enter on my z.

Hi, that is true. I also heard that there is a new rule concerning this. No one is able to get it in HK as non-HK resident. They must apply from their home country. Sending back your application is appicable, but I am afraid they will notice that there is no exit stamp on your passport.
