About:Chinese Embassy in France

UK citizen, resident in France, business trip to China for UK company

Hi,
I am a director of a UK Ltd company with clients in many countries around the world.
I need to visit 3 customer there to provide training on our software products.
I am not able to physically go to one of the embassy sites, so will be using one of the agent companies.

In order to apply for an F visa, they tell me I need to supply a letter from my employer, however one agent suggested that if the letter was not from a French company, the embassy would reject my application saying it should be submitted in the UK. However, another agent I asked didn't see a problem with a letter from a UK company as long as I produced proof of residency such as a utility bill and an income tax bill.

Any advice please? Many thanks!

Hi, for business F application, you need to provide an invitation letter from any of your customer in China, and your proof of residency in France. I don't think a letter from your employer is necessary.

Thanks for the quick reply Bob!

It is odd, but when I check CVASC, no mention is made of a letter from the employer, yet both the agents I've looked at list such a letter as a requirement, and confirmed the requirement over the phone!

I think I will include a letter from the UK company anyway ... could it hurt?

I guess maybe they need a reference letter from your employer with details like monthly salary as proof that you have sufficient fund to cover your stay in China. If you are working for the UK company, sure the one from UK company is acceptable.
