About:Chinese Consulate in Chicago

invitation letter from a Chinese national

My sister, who is Canadian, is married to a Chinese national. I have an invitation from him, as well as photocopies of front and back of his id. Is this sufficient?

Yes, this is enough for you to apply for a visit L visa. But please note, if you mention to visit your sister to the application form, you may also need to provide both you and your sisiter's birth certificates, and her marriage certificate if necessary.
