About:International Trains from/to China

Buying international ticket locally at the railway station

When buying a ticket at the station of departure, is the maximum time also 40 days in advance, as it is through a travel agency? (In my case, the train from Hohhot to UB.)

I can answer my own question now: at Hohhot railway station, international tickets to UB can be purchased 15 days in advance. However, the ticketing booth seems to have very erratic opening hours...
