About:Visa Policy of China

My son currently holds a resident student for studying in Beijing. How to extend?

Originally obtained it in August of 2012. Visa expires on June 30, 2013. How can he obtain a L type to stay for 30 more days without having to go to Hong Kong or flying back to U.S.A? He is only 17 years old. Approximate cost and procedures? Thanks

Has he finished his study? If so, he should get his diploma or a certificate that proves he finishes his course. With this, he can apply for the new L type at the local entry and exit management department. Otherwise, he needs to gets out to apply for the new L.

Other documents he needs to provide:
1. valid passport and resident permit
2. 2 recent passport size photos
3. temporary residence accommodation registration form
4. financial proof (3000 USD or 21000 RMB)

Our 17 year old son's academic Mandarin program ends May 29, 2013. What kind of certificate can his Resident Director provide since he will be returning to the U.S. to complete high school? What would need to be included on the note under the SYA letter head?

How can he obtain a Tourist L(not a Beijing resident extension which expires June 30, 2013) with multiple exit entries for a year be issued from Whom and Where in Beijing ?

How do we prove he has $3,000.00 USD? His U.S. based credit union account statement ? When he and his fellow American students arrived in August 2012, we didn't have to provide $$ proof.

His current host family or expat U.S. colleagues are willing to provide temporary residence for him. He'll also be traveling around during the month of June and hopefully July once he receives a Tourist L and expects to return to the U.S. before the end of July 2013.

Hi, he can provide an Application Letter by hosting organisation to Beijing Municipal Administration of Entry & Exit, and the Application Form with seal of hosting organisation. If necessary, their Business Licence issued by the commercial department is required. The letter should include the following items:
(1) Personal information of your son, such as name, gender,and date of birth.
(2) Purpose of the extension, travel itinerary, places of visit, name of the unit, contact number, address, seal of the unit, and representative or the inviter's signature.

Financial support is required as proof that he will bear the expenses for extra 30 days. As I know, it should be a bank statement. However, a multiple entries tourist L is impossible.
